Smart office building for smart city environment
Jyväskylä’s Kangas is an ecological district near the city center, in the area of a former paper mill, and the most significant regional development project in the city of Jyväskylä, where they are developing a “resource-wise” and cybersafe smart city district in cooperation with educational institutions and companies.
During 2020, the Optimes Business Garden office property, a representative of a modern working environment, will be completed in the area, with approximately 14,000 square meters of office space in three buildings. The core idea is the well-being of people, efficient facilities and the best possible adaptability, i.e. transformable space solutions that support the business needs of a company. The adaptability of spaces requires that special attention is paid to acoustics, indoor air, and lighting. Landis + Gyr, the developer of intelligent energy management solutions is moving their 1 500 sqm testing laboratory and 270 employees to the building and they have their own requirements regarding the design of the property. The testing laboratory requires stable conditions, for example cooling load management. In addition, a fast-growing company expects the facilities to adapt to future business growth as well. Landis + Gyr’s Jyväskylä premises are one of the company’s global technology centers and the head office in the Nordics and Baltic countries.
Suomen Talotekniikka Oy is responsible for building services engineering and contracting in the Business Garden project, with Arto Piispanen, Jyväskylä ‘s Regional Director, as the project manager. Piispanen has a long history of cooperation with ETS NORD and he knows their products and people.
ETS NORD was selected as the supplier for:
- Ventilation terminals
- Duct solutions
- Dampers
- Ventilation machines
-I am happy the consistent quality of the ETS NORD products, Piispanen says, – It has remained the same over the years. – Our cooperation with ETS NORD has also been very open. For this project, we needed more detailed information about the bus data and voltage used by fire dampers to understand how they are connected to the property systems. We got answers quickly and my experience is that other questions have always been handled by either the technical support or regional representatives, Piispanen says.
