Virolahti is finally getting their shopping centre
The tight schedule of Scandinavian Shopping Centre’s HVAC contractor is facilitated by ETS NORD’s combination products that are quick to install.
A long-awaited large shopping center, Scandinavian Shopping Center, is nearing completion in Virolahti in autumn 2020 and is expected to bring a lot of new business to Virolahti. The shopping centre will include grocery stores, so it does not compete with the nearby Zsar Outlet Village. There are 18 600 floor square metres at the Scandinavian Shopping Center.
Attempts have been made to build a shopping center on the same site in past. Before the failure of the previous unfortunate project, they already made the foundations and the basement space was finished already when the new project started. This facilitated the tight schedule of Haveputki Oy operating as a HVAC subcontractor.
ETS NORD supplied the shopping center with ventilation ducts, fire dampers and smoke control ducts, as well as exhaust diffusers. Sami Naakka, CEO of Haveputki Oy, says that the combination product in particular, in which the exhaust diffusers already have a roof grommet, has received a lot of good feedback from the installers. – We have received feedback stating that this product is smart and saves time, Mr Naakka says. – It is also easy to install, the product is waterproof and the material is corrosion-proof, he continues.
Miko Makkonen, ETS NORD’s Product Group Manager, says that the roof grommet has been pre-installed at the factory under the diffuser, and the water tightness of the installation has been ensured. In the future, the same structure and corrosion-resistant Magnelis material will be present in all ETS NORD blow-out diffusers. In addition, the Combicanopy combination product combines air outlet and inlet in the same product.
– Exhaust diffusers are a good example of the systematic thinking we are constantly striving for, says ETS NORD Finland’s Country Director Jari Lehtonen. – We make it easier to work on site with continuous product development but also by combining finished products into rational entities, he says.
ETS NORD is a familiar partner for Mr Naakka at Haveputki Oy. – We are used to ETS NORD being very flexible and even fast deliveries can be made: for example, square ventilation ducts can be delivered faster than normal by ordering them online and picking up them at ETS NORD’s Tuusula warehouse, Naakka says.
