Elegant hoods for the restaurants in The Mall of Tripla

Tripla is not only a center location for public transport, but also a major entertainment center. There are about 70 restaurants or cafés in Tripla, most of which were supplied with ETS NORD’s professional kitchen canopies.

In the giant new project of Keski-Pasila in 2019-2020, the Mall of Tripla and an underground parking facility, among others, were built in a three-block complex project. At the same time, the old railway station of Pasila was renovated into a modern public transport center. The time schedule was rapid and deployment happened very quickly.

The restaurants themselves made the purchasing decisions on the basis of the presentation of Are Oy, which was responsible for HVAC contracting. Depending on the ventilation needs of each restaurant, the best solution for some was an efficient ozonation solution for demanding degreasing, while for cafes, for example, a professional kitchen canopy without ozonation could prove to be the most effective solution. In total, about 2/3 of Tripla’s restaurants in the shopping center ended up in one of ETS NORD’s solutions.

Are Oy’s project manager Jouni Peltola, who was responsible for building services contracting, was in cooperation with ETS NORD for the first time. He is very satisfied to ETS NORD’s operations and with the service he received.

– The excellent price/quality ratio of ETS NORD’s canopy solutions certainly had a big part in the choice, but in addition, the new canopy product was elegantly designed and quite good-looking, which is why it is well suited for the ‘’open’’ kitchens of shopping center restaurants, Jouni Peltola says.

Peltola is also satisfied with the technical support received. Tripla has very different sized spaces and thus also professional kitchens of all sizes, but the canopies were easily modulated to the dimensions desired by the designer.

The tight completion schedule of the giant shopping center (183,000 square meters in total) and the tight pace at which the premises had to be put into operation also posed their own challenges. – In the commissioning phase, of course, there was all kinds of challenges on the coordination of the building services, but the solutions that ETS NORD offered was also first-class in a tight place, Peltola says.
